West German Modern Side Chairs - Hartmut Lohmeyer Design

Add a punch of German pre-unification design to your interior decor with a pair (or several pairs) of Strax Casala chairs by German designer Hartmut Lohmeyer.  Born in 1923, Lohmeyer was an architect and furniture designer.  He used a variety of materials in his furniture designs, including teak, cane, and plastic.  He is perhaps best known for his "400" arm chair, manufactured by noted German design firm Wilkhahn.

Gotcha Modern! has sourced eight (8) of these chairs, four in orange and four in a chocolate brown (only two are shown in the pictures below).  Sold individually or in pairs.  Take one pair or all four!

The chair features a comfortable curvelinear seat and back made of a strong and thick plastic.  A beechwood frame provifdes a nice and interesting contrast to the color of the plastic.  A gentle taper to the legs adds a touch of sophistication.  Signed on the bottom of the seat.

The chairs are stackable for easy storage (if needed).  Dimensions: 20 1/2" W, 22" D, 30" H

Very good original condition.  Chairs have light scuffing to the bottom of the legs, and some have lights scuffs to the plastic, but they are very presentable.

These functional chairs can serve a myriad of uses in a design-conscious decor, and with the right table could serve as a terrific set of dining chairs (easy to clean).

$80 per pair (you choose the colors!).  Gotcha Modern is pleased to offer a discount if you'd like more than two chairs.

SOLD.  Thanks, Maria & thanks, Sarah @ Chicago!
