Percival Lafer is perhaps Brazil's most famous furniture designer of the 1960s - 70s. He often worked with exotic woods (rosewood, etc.) and leather, and over the last decade or so his work has garnered a growing appreciation that is well deserved.
This wonderful lounge chair is an unusual departure from his work in wood.
The chair features leather upholstery and chromed solid-steel legs that slightly taper towards the back of the chair - a subtle and pleasing design element.
The chair is in good vintage condition. The leather has a nice, worn feel to it. There are two small areas on the seat where the seams have come apart and need to be sewn back together. The chromed legs are in very good condition, with just minor oxidation and no severe pitting.
The original paper lable is still largely intact on the underside of the chair.
Dimensions are 34" high, 29" wide, and approximately 30" deep.
A wonderful and unique designer chair, and a guaranteed conversation starter!
SOLD. Thanks, Margie @ Chicago!
